At Conga, we provide cutting-edge document generation solutions and ensure our customers successfully adopt and maximize the value of our products. This success story involves a property management company that leverages Conga Composer to streamline its business processes after recently becoming a customer in the fall of 2023.

When a property management company purchased Conga Composer in late 2023, our DocGen Team proactively reached out to encourage usage and adoption. We spoke with its Business Data Analyst about their initial journey and learned they had yet to build their first solution. They also hadn’t launched it to the broader Customer Service Team.

We discovered that the company faced major issues while preparing lengthy Quality Assurance (QA) reports in Word. These reports were quite time-consuming, taking about two weeks each, and were prone to human error and inconsistent formatting. Due to the legal requirements and the number of pages involved in the template, it was crucial to eliminate errors and maintain consistency.

The primary use case: develop a template for QA reports with a 100-line-item checklist and property score values. The goal was to reduce errors, standardize formatting, and accelerate the report creation process.

The company didn’t hire an implementation partner, so the Business Data Analyst tried to complete most of the solution build within the developer console. Unfortunately, this was a difficult task because they had to input the code manually, and the Business Data Analyst wasn’t an expert. As a result, this caused an adoption risk because Composer hadn’t launched, and the Customer Service Team had no idea how to use the product, what it could do for them, or how to get started.

Our proactive call exposed bottlenecks and allowed the DocGen team to explain that there was a better way. By using the Conga Solution Manager, Composer correctly auto-populated the fields and organized information into a digestible view.

The DocGen Team then reviewed templating, solution building, and automation over an additional four calls. The Business Data Analyst caught on quickly, and together, they built out and edited the report template to be more streamlined, hopefully leading to a faster turnaround for their use case.

Our DocGen Team helped the customer throughout its journey, providing continuous support. They addressed any technical issues and offered guidance on how to effectively utilize Composer. Despite encountering some challenges with merge fields during testing, our team remained committed to resolving the issues and empowering the customer to succeed.

When they were happy with the template, the DocGen Team followed up to enable the customer by providing information about our free learning courses, the Conga Customer Community, and product user groups

Our DocGen Team helped the Business Data Analyst over the finish line ahead of the defined schedule so they could test sooner and launch Composer to the end users. The customer now knows how to use merge fields using the solution manager to create a scoring value for its properties. The QA report template has all required content in a clean layout.

Here are the business outcomes the property management company achieved:

  • Reduced time to create a 15-page QA report from 2 weeks to 2 days

  • Decreased human error and inaccuracies

  • Created a legally binding template

  • Improved overall format to make it clear, user-friendly, and easy to read

Our DocGen Team continues to champion customers by reaching out to get them started. Furthermore, this new customer knows Conga is available to help in the future.
